Retinal Detachment

Our dedicated team is expert in picking up early retinal problems and offering treatment accordingly.

There are three types of Retinal Detachment:

  • Rhegmatogenous : One of the most common types of retinal detachments, where a tear or break in the retina allows fluid to get under the retina and detach it from retinal pigment epithelium.
  • Tractional : A less common type of retinal detachment where, scar tissue on the retina’s surface contracts and causes the retina to separate from the RPE. /li>
  • Exudative : In this type of retinal detachment, fluid leaks into the area underneath the retina, but there are no tears or breaks in the retina. Major causes are retinal diseases, including inflammatory disorders and injury/trauma to the eye.
